hi all
i had decided to go for a sb system and was just about to get it when the defect in it was discovered.so i have become a bit worried.i am now thinking to quit the p67 chipset all together.how is the x 58 chipset.need some information on that.apart from that the configuration that i had prepared was something like this.

1.cpu-Intel Core i5 2500k

2.motherboard-asus p8p67 pro

3.graphics card-hd 5770 radeon

4.Monitor-Samsung 22 inch LCD monitor with 1920x1080 resolution

5.cabinet and smps-cooler master haf 922 and 750w power supply

6.keyboard-tvs gold

7.mouse-lazer mouse

9.corsair 6gb drr3 ram 1600mhz

10.hard drive-1tb western cavier 7200 rpm or seagate

11.dvd writer-sony 24x

12.ups-apc 650va

13.speaker system-creative inspire 5.1

now how should i react???i am thinking of may be getting a amd build.i know the performance wont be like the sb system.but cant help it.if not then i can go for the x 58 chipset system with mayb a 15 760.haven't decided.help me out people.i am in india and all products are available one month after in gets launched in the states.but i want it fast.really getting at the unavailability of the sb systems.
i have thought of the amd 6 core 1100t proc and a mobo with it along with the other components.hlp me out plzzzzzzzz

Solution
Hello djrulz;

X-58 MB (socket 1366) and i5-760 (socket 1156) would be a mis-match.

HD 5770 & 1920x1080 monitor is a mis-match if this is a gaming system.

AM3 systems (X4 965/X1090T) do not have an upgrade path to the next gen AMD CPUs.
1366 & 1156 systems do not have an upgrade path to the next gen Intel CPUs.
1155 Sandy Bridge systems DO have an upgrade path to the next gen Intel Ivy Bridge CPUs.

If you want it fast you want:
Core i5-760 2.8Ghz CPU
Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3 1156 P55 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Motherboard
4GB or 8GB RAM

GTX 560Ti or HD 6850 / HD 6870 video card. (or possible a GTX 470 or HD 5850 / HD 5870 if you can get a really good price).

All the rest is fine.

hmmmm.so u mean to say that if i go for any of the existing sockets then it wont be upgradable???apart from sb sockets the 1366 and 1156 are the only ones available in intel n amd3+ available in amd.so i have to wait till the sb prob gets over.then i can make it future proof rght???
apart from this regarding the video card i read in the review for both january and february that 5770 gives gr8 perfrmnc at this resolution.so i choosed this card.
and as far as i know ivy bridge is gonna b released smtym in march nxt yr and its gonna be on a 22nm fabric chip.will that too have the same socket 1155???
gtx 560 n 6870 wl b far too xpnsv.in order to get that i need to chng the mobo to a myb asrock xtreme 4 or so.
in our market the faulty p67 mobos r availabl and i knw that only the sata 2 ports r faulty bt stl i dnt wanna gamble on that so looking for a way out.
will bulldozers b on a difrnt socket than the existing amd3+ one??

Intel's 22nm-based Ivy Bridge specs leak out
For early adopters, you're not left out. The new processors are expected to continue the LGA-1155 based interface making them compatible with current boards after a BIOS update.

Nothing is future proof. And X58/55/AM3 systems are still very powerful and good values. But they have no next gen CPU upgrade options
But if want to have the extra security of knowing you can upgrade to a next gen CPU only the SB looks to have that option in the short term.

HD 5770 is probably the lowest GPU that makes sense for a gamer on 1920x1080. High end Sandy Bridge CPU and low end GPU?

As far as I know there are no AM3+ CPUs or 9xx AM3+ MBs out now.

yes i can wait for the new mobos to come out but i dnt think the prices will go dwn that much.asus p8p67 pro costs abt 12k in india($266).dnt knw hw much it can go dwn.but yes i can wait

You just asked for alternatives. It's your money - you buy anything you want.
How much are the H67 MBs? You can use a HD 5770 or HD 6850 in them too.
A HD 5770 and 1600x900 monitor would save a fair amount and be excellent in gaming.

A case with decent cooling - 2 fans and a GOOD 500-550W PSU.
Antec Three Hundred case and Antec Basiq BP500U 500W (5770) or 550W Antec BP550 (6850) would be examples. If you go with Antec Earthwatts you can go one size smaller Antec EarthWatts EA-430D 430W (5770) or Antec Earthwatts EA500 500W (6850).

For an AMD option and if gaming is all you do (no render/encode) just stick to Deneb 955BE ^^ Understand u outside the USA but for a simple AM3/Gaming config something like this on Egg just for reference would suffice

Over a spread majority games dun even leverage on >2 cores and are not even optimised for quads hehe

The Game Rundown: Finding CPU/GPU Bottlenecks, Part 2
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/game-performance-bottleneck,2738-16.html
Conclusion: A Trend Toward 3+ Cores

The average optimal number of CPU cores suggested by the test results is 2.75, showing a clear trend towards at least three CPU cores. The question of whether the CPU or GPU is most important is easily answered. If you don't have a multi-core CPU, then upgrade it. If you have a dual-core CPU at around 3 GHz, then invest your money into a graphics card, as most games are GPU-limited. This is not something that will change with new DirectX 11 games.
