RAM Clearance Question

Will the Corsair (Black) Vengeance 8GB DDR3 1600 (2 X 4GB) sticks clear the Hyper 212+ on an ASRock Z68 Gen3 Extreme3 motherboard? I hear that the heat spreaders are tall and MAY interfere. The only reason I'm going with the Corsair right now is because it's $7 cheaper than the GSkills with the shorter heat spreaders.

I have the same ram as you, but 4 x 4gb, so all slots taken up. I also have the same cooler as you and it does overhang the ram slots slightly on my board GA-Z68XP-UD3. The cooler that you have is capable of taking two fans, one on either side of the heatsink.

So what I did was purchase a Scythe slim case fan (HERE), which is 120mm x 120mm but only has a depth of 12mm as opposed to the standard 25mm. The result it that there is no problem clearing the ram slots.

I have mine working in a push / pull setup, but you could just use the slim fan only on one side if you prefer.

I wanted something rated higher by Newegg like the GSkill. At the time of the post, the Corsair was $39.99, but it went out of stock the day I went to purchase... I ended up getting the G Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 X 4gb ) DDR3 1600.
