Hi! :hello:
I have a rather interesting question. I was wondering if using a smaller monitor, would increase the shelf life of a good vga card...
eg:
Using a GTX 460 1GB with an 18.5" monitor or a GTX 470 with a 19"........ after a few years, will it still be able to perform well enough on games even though it's old, because of the small monitor resolution?

Well I know it's hard to answer because we have no idea what games of the future will be. But any good assumption would do. :)

Thanks in advance :sol:

Solution
Playing on low resolutions like 1280x1024 with cards like GTX 460/470 is a waste IMO.
You can buy much cheaper cards like HD 5750/GTS 450 and upgrade them later on.
However,if you still want to use either of the cards you mentioned, then i think they can handle games fine for 2-3 years.
