5870 vs ?

I'm looking to build a new PC, want an ATI card, was thinking about the Sapphire 5870 1gb. I'm wondering if it's still worth getting or if there are other ati cards that outperform it significantly ?

There is a 5970, but it's more expensive and it's 2 GPU's in one card. New AMD cards are coming out on December 15th I think. It will be 6950 and 6970. The 6990 will replace the current 5970, but it will be released only in Q1 2011.

Wait for a week at least to decide on the cards. The HD6870 is a nice option right now and so is the GTX570.
