HI!

I have this pc:
Q9550 @2.83
ASUS P5N-D NVIDIA nForce 750i SLI
2x2gb RAMM DDR2 @ 800
HDD 500 Gb
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 460 OC 1GB GDDR5
NOX Urano 700W
GIGABYTE 3D GALAXY II CPU LIQUID COOLING.

graphics card is broken, and i have to buy another.
i like ths one: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3673#ov , and it has dropped price here in Spain

My question is: Is my PSU enough?

I also like gtx 560...would that be a better choice, as performance and PSU request?

thanx all! I always find answers here!!!

Your power supply is above the minimum recommended 600 Watt power supply with a minimum +12 Volt current rating of 42 Amps so it shouldn't have any problem powering a single GeForce GTX 480 in your system. If your power supply has at least one 6-pin & one 8-pin PCI Express Supplementary Power Connectors that the GeForce GTX 480 needs then you should be fine.

Yes the 560 almost equals the 480.

The 560 Ti is clearly the smarter choice here.. 480 will be faster though but at the expense of insane cooling and power requirements.. If you are open for non Nvidia suggestions then the HD 6950 2GB makes for a lovely card.. As for the PSU, it surely looks like it can handle a GTX 480.. The efficiency is towards the lower side however..

Your PSU isn't he best one in the 700W-800W line but can handle the rig that you have, comes with 72% efficiency and that I think that's a problem for a good rig like your. I suggest you get a better PSU with 80% certificate and UL code, both are good signal of a decent product. Corsair, Seasonic, Antec, XFX are trusted brands.

i bought the 560ti...and then , i changed it for the gtx 480.
for me the gtx 480 is better.

but...i´m having some trouble. some times when i turn on the PC, the grafics don´t start and everything else starts, like when the PC is working normaly ( i know that because it has some leds on the back side that turn on when graphics is working)

and i have to turn off, then on, several times....till graphics card starts working

why is that happening?

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Club_3D/CSP-X1000CB/

what u thinc about this PSU?

There are better power supplies available.

There's no need for a 1000 Watt power supply.

The TechPowerUp test review, that you linked to, shows that the CSP-X1000CB failed the +3.3V Advanced Transient Tests. The +3.3V rail powers the RAM modules on the motherboard and is also used by some SATA devices.

You're better off selecting from brands such as Antec, Corsair, Enermax, Seasonic or XFX.

Get a good 650 Watt or greater power supply with a +12 Volt current rating of 42 Amps or greater and at least one 6-pin and one 8-pin PCI Express Supplementary Power Connectors.
