Difference in VRM Power Design

Hi Community!

I am currently looking in to two mb's:

P8P67 pro
and
Maximus 4 gene Z

I also plan to overclock, but the question is, what is the difference in this "digital VRM" phase count.
P8P67 Pro has 12+2, whilst Maximus 4 gene z has Extreme Engine Digi+ 8 only.

Should this count be a concern?? What effects should a lower number (8) have?

Theorectically, more phases give you better transient response, smoother power delivery, and lower thermal effects because power delivery is spread over more components.

Aftre 8 phases or so, there's little practical benefit.
