I have AMD Athlon 64 X 2 5000+, Mboard ASUS M2N68-AM, 4 GB ram. i want to buy nvidia gforce 8800 ultra is this supportable for my PC & can i get now. or what about quadro graphic card.

:hello:

It will physically plug into your board and work, and work well with the processor/memory you have.

Couple of questions. Why would you want to buy such an old card, although it is a fast card, there are newer cards now that are faster, run cooler, and use much less power, and are rated for the latest DX version, which is 11.

Which brings us to question #2, what power supply do you have? This card takes a solid PSU to run it. You need a solid name brand PSU at least 550-600 watts very minimum.

#3, And lastly, what do want to do with it? There is a big difference between the 8800ultra and a quadro depending on your usage.

Oh, and welcome to the forums, and it is not generally a good idea to post your email on a public forum, unless you want it harvested by a multitude of junk email sources who will flood your inbox with spam.

i Want to buy graphic card for rendering in maya, also work in mudbox & Zbrush. Which graphic Card is useful for me.
I have AMD Athlon 64 X 2 5000 , M2N68-AM board, 4Gb RAM.

Very very very rarely has there ever been a future proof card and the list of such cards is very short. The only gpus in the past 5-6 years that were any thing close were the G80 and G92. The R300 was ATI's best run when it came to this. The R400 series were short lived compared to what Nvidia had at the time and it was even though late replaced with the R500 series that didn't hold up except for the R580. The R600 was indeed a failure while the R670 turned out to be a decent gpu. Things didn't turn around till the R770 had came out. The GT200 and it derivatives were and still are short lived. The GF100 isn't going to be in production much longer and yields are yet to improve for the GF110. The GF104 and GF106 are about the only decent yielding Fermi cards to date. The R870 is overpriced and has been for some time. The 68x0 cards is overpriced as there is demand for them with a product shortage. The most that one can expect is about a year to a year and a half before the gpu is longer in production let alone some new game that forces one to downgrade the res or upgrade the card.

Unless you are going to be doing VERY VERY heavy rendering, you will get with an GTS 250 or 450. I think even ATI 5670 will do good if you do not have a quality PSU. These options will cost you around 100$(6 to 7k indian rupees). GL!! If you have lots of money and serious rendering is your use, look for the quadro series then.

do you have any CAD/3dmax/maya in daily use? if not stay away from that garbage. it is a good physics card/rendered card but when comes to 3d graphic it's prove to be a piece of trash and doesn't even worth $20 in my standard(of cause if you aint a gamer/bench enthusiast and put it on professional use).

get a used 8800 ultra will be more logical then getting quadro 600... but be sure your psu can output 32a in 12v and come with 2x 6pin connector. or else get a used 3870x2 since your board only support 1.0 and 2.0 will require at least pcie 1.1 in support.

That PSU is only good for a GT 240 or HD 5670 at most.If you're not upgrading that PSU, those are the only choices that you have. Both of them can be had for 5000 rupees.I'd go for a GT 240 since NVIDIA drivers are well suited for rendering applications.
