Hello,
I have been searcing for weeks trying to come up with a good computer to build with a budget of 850. I was thinking the sandybrige but the cost and now problems with them. I want the computer to last and have room for upgrades later. I have keyboard, monitor, dvd drive and speakers. I'd like the case to have front usb ports and the motherboard to have usb 3.0, I know that the video card is important so I'm willing not to skimp too much on that. I have windows 7 x64 ultimate. I would also like ssd for booting and 1tb hdd. I like to have plenty of cooling system. I'm in the us.
I would really appreciate you guys'help in selecting compatible parts for me. Thanks!

If you wait until early April that's what your looking at as far as a Sandy Bridge build. It gets cheaper if you go with a single card set up. Mobo would be $123, and psu would be $60.

SB 2500K $229 and free shipping

Asrock extreme4 SLI/Xfire mobo $150

gtx 560 o/c $250

Cooler Master Case $70

Cooler Master Hyper 212+ heatsink $28

Mushkin 2x2 1600 RAM 1.5v $40

Samsung F3 1tb h/d $64

750w psu $90

Total: $890

This build will allow you to play games at mid. to max. settings at a monitor resolution of 1920x1080 or less

To squeeze a SSD boot drive into the build and stay under budget we can look at less some expensive parts, combo deals, sales and rebates.

Do you want to look at something in the Core i5 or AMD X4 955 type builds now?

I have created a custom build list just for you based on your criteria, with the exception of the hard drive. It is my opinion, based on 15 years as a A+ PC tech, that any hdd over 500GB is more likely to fail sooner, which is not in line with your criteria of a computer that will last a long time. You can always add more drives for storage (this motherboard has 6 Sata ports), but your main OS installation drive should be one that is going to last. This is also the reason I chose the 7200 RPM drive and not a faster one, because faster drives are much more prone to die young. The system I have put together for you has plenty of room for expansion and will be upgradeable for a long time. The total price is $744.92 before $40 of mail in rebates. I have saved this build to my newegg wish list and can email it to you if you will PM your address.

1 Western Digital Caviar Black WD5002AALX 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" $59.99

1 ZALMAN CNPS9700 LED 110mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler $44.99

1 AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W $159.99

1 ASUS ENGTS450 DirectCU TOP/DI/1GD5 GeForce GTS 450 (Fermi) 1GB
128-bit DDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card $139.99

1 G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 $84.99
