error01 says clean lens contacts. But it does not tell you how to clean
it. Any suggestions

I would use Q-tips or some clean cotton fabric. Just make sure there is
no visible dirt on the contacts.

I suggest careful use of a pencil eraser (not a ink eraser) followed
with a cleaning using a soft cotton cloth or Q-tip or lens tissue. You may
want to try it without the eraser first to see if it is needed.
