So I just assembled my computer. It's turning on with the CPU fan spinning and all. But when I plug in a DVI cord nothing comes up on the monitor. I'm certain that my graphics card is plugged in properly, the fan is spinning. I have an EVGA GTX460 1GB.

There are POST State LEDs on your motherboard. Is the VGA_LED lit? If the video card fails the component check during Power On Self Test this LED should be lit.

This doesn't indicate that the video card itself is defective, only that there is a problem somewhere between the video card and the motherboard.

It could be that some of the fingers in the PCI Express slot are not making proper contact with the video card.

It could be a bad solder joint between the PCI Express slot and the motherboard.
