Hi. Would like advice on building a new machine for a pro photographer friend. He's a heavy Photoshop expert and that's an important app. Also, this machine will be used for office apps, Quicken, web, etc. They want fast user performance (fast boot, fast app load, etc). No gaming expected.
They need this in next 2 weeks so probably can't wait for Sandy Bridge fixes (although I can force them to wait if it's stupid not to). I have experience building PC's.

Here are details:
Approximate Purchase Date: (e.g.: this week (the closer the better))

Budget Range: (under $1K 700-800 is good) After Rebates

System Usage from Most to Least Important: (Photoshop, small biz apps, web surf). Need fast user experience.

Parts Not Required: ( keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers)

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: We like Newegg. Others OK.

Country of Origin: (USA)

Parts Preferences: by brand or type (Intel CPU, No preference for graphics vendor. Like Asus MB, but not essential. Want an SSD, and a big D: Drive. Don't want any RAID unless someone tells me otherwise)

Overclocking: Maybe as future proofing, or if it makes a perceptible user experience improvement.

SLI or Crossfire: No

Monitor Resolution: (current monitor is ok. May upgrade later so expect good res.)

Additional Comments: (Need WIN7-64. No bling, quiet is nice

Thanks for the fast response.
Thinking an 80GB SSD is adequate for OS and most app installs.
No allegiance to SSD vendor as long as performance/reliability is good.
