Hello,
I want to upgrade my mobo to a sly mobo,I have, now,a gigabyte h57m-usb3,and have an intel i5 duel core clarkdale 660 @3.33 ghz,3326mhz not sure waht socket it is (1155,1156,1157,ect.)can some 1 help with either telling me what socket it is or what asus gaming mobo i should get, thank you.

You have a clarksdale 1156. Those boards are being phased out; some models are already out of production. This evga board will work well at 8x sli speed, and may fit in your case if it's micro atx. It won't come with a backplate; you may be able to write evga for one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188104

Or you may prefer this new one with crossfire support: http://www.amazon.com/Asus-P7P55-Desktop-Motherboard-CrossFireX/dp/B005WKK28S/ref=sr_1_48?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1326544344&sr=1-48

If you plan on keeping your cpu awhile, best to order quickly while you still have some selection. Like socket 939, the selection will be limited soon.

Yes. If you have time, try selling your old 660 clarksdale and motherboard before you order anything on craigslist. I might buy it from you, but I'm in Texas and won't spend too much. I don't need the latest and greatest cpu combo for surfing the net. I also recommend you wait for Ivy bridge, which should be released in the next few months.

Sounds like you have an atx case, which should work with any standard atx or micro atx motherboard. What you order will depend on whether you need a warranty or low price. I've used most of the motherboard brands, and can't recommend which one will last longer. It's hard to predict.

i'm in florida,i dont remember what I paid but make me a good firm and fair offer and we can chat....i want better for my gaming...when i did this system i thought it was going to be better than it is but none the less it does very well alot better than my old dell dim 5100 which was real good and smooth which i still have

I pay about half the original price for anything I order. I already have enough stuff, and will get my tax refund in about three weeks. I could only offer you about $100 for your board and cpu, and you can probably get more by waiting and trying craigslist or anandtech's for sale forums first. But if you're interested, we can continue communicating on anandtech's for sale forum. My id is o1die there.
