Hello! I will make this short. I am a very enthusiastic gamer. I am constantly playing new and old games alike. I am currently enveloped in WoW, CoD Black Ops and Starcraft 2. I intend on playing a few games that are not yet released but will require high performance GPU's im sure.

I have a coupon which will get me $43 off of the EVGA Geforce GTX 460 1024mb EE so it was my first choice, but upon research have discovered cards like the GTX 470 offer a great increase in performance with little more cost.

I play on a HD wide screen 24'' @ 1920x1080. I also have a second 19'' monitor but it is merely for web-surfing and secondary applications. Power supply is not an issue as I am willing to purchase a new one to accommodate a new GPU. My price range is anywhere in the $150-$300 range as long as it will support my current needs and a few near future ones. (I know asking to not have to replace the card in a year is a lot, but do your best :D)

Thoughts on the two cards I have mentioned are greatly appreciated and I am open to suggestions for entirely different ones. Thank you for your time.

Do not get a x4 970 or an x6 1100t. These are probably the better ones for the price and performance and they are all BE so they should OC rather well. Back to GPUs, I would say a 6870 or a 69xx series, of course in the in the future you could CF the 6870 without giving up an arm and a leg.

At your resolution it really depends on what you want to spend. Even a GTX 460 will do quite well for your resolution, especially if you give it a high OC. Better cards will benefit you though in the more intensive current and future games. If you are ok with spending $300 then the HD6950 is the way to go at the moment.
