I just bought a samsung la22c350d1 lcd. After connecting to the vga port with my 9600 gt graphics card it worked at the native resolution(1024X768).
But whenever i try to increase the resolution there is no display and after a few seconds it reverts back to 1024 X 768 resolution.
Please help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that tv has native res of 1,366 x 768 so obviously it can't show anything higher than that

Actually most Samsung displays have a scale-down feature in them that allows the user to run higher resolutions in some cases up to 1920x1080 on a 1366x768 monitor. I know mine has that feature, and I have a 32" Samsung LCD TV.

Samsung TVs generally have a much more limited range of supported resolutions than LCD monitors (because they are televisions first and foremost, and therefore don't need to support a wide range of resolutions). Some resolutions that work on my TV are:

1920x1080
1280x720
1366x768
1360x768
1024x768
1280x1024 (I think)

Try some of these and see if it works. ;)
