So I have Australian $1000 budget. This is my first build and here are the components. Could you see if there is anything wrong with this build? My main question is: The motherboard is sort of on the cheap side and the graphics card is on the high end; so will that be a problem? All prices in Australian $.
CPU: AMD AM3 Phenom II X4 965 3.4Ghz Quad Core - $176; or should I just go for the AMD 955 BE which is $20 cheaper? I have no intentions of overclocking.
Mobo: Asus M4A87TD-EVO 870 – $110
GPU: HD 6950 - $315.
RAM: G-Skill Ripjaws 2x2gb - $56
HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB/WD BLACK 1TB (whichever is cheaper when I hit buy) - $68 approx.
Case: Antec 300 - $55 (Does this have an option for good cable management?)
PSU: Antec EarthWatts 650W - $102.
Optical DD: LG/Samsung - $22
CPU HSF: CoolerMaster hyper 212+ - $33 (If this is not available which one do you guys think is the next best option?)
Thanks for any input you guys give. Appreciate it and I really need some help.
Very close to what I would have considered in an AMD build today.
Good single GPU build that should serve you well! No issues between the GPU and board. I do not have experience with the 300 case so I can not comment other than it is a recommended budget case.
