hi,

i just got all the parts for my new gaming rig and... im so stupid because i thought that the power supply would com with a power cord ( thats what i think its called... the wire that plugs into the wall). Heres my question, can i just go run to bestbuy and but any old power cord with that kind of conector, or do i need to get a certain type of cord for my power suplly. Heres the power supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371035&cm_re=antec_earthwatts_500w-_-17-371-035-_-Product

Features: No power cord included. By reusing your existing cord, you can reduce waste and help protect the environment

I believe most Antec PSU's are coming without a cord now. They say it's to protect the environment, I think it's to save money for them. Anyway, any PSU powercord should work.

I wouldn't go with anything less than 14 - 16 gauge. The higher the gauge, the lighter the cable. 12 gauge is really heavy duty.

If the end will fit into the PSU it will work just fine, they are all pretty much the same.

I like that antec isnt shipping power cords with their units anymore, after a while you realize you have 8 of them but only need 3 at a time and it gets annoying, it also saves a couple bucks for the cord and makes the package lighter which probably saves them a bit too.
