I7 2600K

I'm thinking about buying the i7 2600K, I've been using ASUS boards with 775 builds, what's a good board for the 1155 build I plan on?

depends on what form factor and the requirements do you need.We all consider the z68 boards because most of the best features are on the z68 boards.

I've heard that the chip is good with video, right now I have a E8400 with 8gigs of ram. I would take a 6gig movie and squeeze it on to a DVD disc, stuff like that and it takes over every bit of computing power. Like doing those Light Scribe discs to. Would like to get some photo editing software and give that a try.

If you've got some money to burn, go for it. Otherwise, the 2500k is much cheaper and nearly as good.

If yer just gonna play games then get the i5 2500k since Hyper Threading is not used by games. I think Anandtech did a review an in some cases HT cause game performance to drop by 1% - 2%.

The 2600k is better then the 2500k in everyway. Drop in fps i seen that review stupid. If your only going to be gaming get the cheaper 2500k-- if you need HT get the 2600k its so simple.

Stay with the i7-2600K CPU. Also, have some fun overclocking it!

Don't bet the farm on the on chip video. I've had nothing but problems despite tweaking and trying various drivers. A decent graphics card is coming from newegg in a few days...
