hey guys,

i have a asrock p67 extremem 4 motherboard and an coolermaster cm storm scout case, and i wasnt too sure about the audio plug in on the board.
there was eith the hidef cable or the ac97 cable to plug into. i plugged the hidef one in, but there isnt any sound coming out (there is sound with headphones). im just wondering if i had to change it to ac97 plug, or is there no speaker built in anywhere anyways?

i did have this little cord with like an black oval case on the end of a short wire that i think plugged into the speaker header, which that might be the problem?

I don't know the exact architecture of this case, but normally the internal speaker is only used for post beeps and bios error codes.
So it is pretty normal that you do not have sound from the rig itself.
Those headers you are mentioning hdaudio or ac97 are for the external connection witch are on the front top of your case.

Other then that you need a speakerset and connect that to the audio out ports on the backside of your rig.
