Hello,
I have an HP DC7800 with a core 2 duo running at 2.66 and 8 gigs of ram, looking for a recomendation for a PCI-e graphics card. I am wanting to hook the pc up with a hdmi cable to a big screen tv(Probably 50")to watch TV/videos/movies, not really any gaming. Thank you in advance for your help!

Is your HP DC7800 the Ultra Slim Desktop or the Small Form Factor or the Convertible Mini-Tower model?

We need to know this to determine the correct size graphics card that will fit into the computer's case.

The Ultra-slim desktop doesn't have any PCI or PCI Express slots so you can't even add a graphics card.

The Small form factor will only accommodate a low-profile PCI Express x16 graphics card.

The Convertible minitower will accommodate a full-height PCI Express x16 graphics card.

^i agree we need to know...

If you can fit a regular or low-profile graphics card what is your budget and it would better help us to get you a card for the right price that best fits your needs.

It is the convertable mini-tower with a full height pci-e slot, but it is the top slot so I am concerned that a doulbe or 2 slot card may not work. As far as budget, $300.00 would be the max I would want to spend, but don't want to spend money I don't need to. Thanks again!

Are you going to be playing Blu-Ray movies through this new graphics card? If yes, then the card needs to be HDCP-capable.

^^^

I agree that the HD 5570 is the best card to get for video playback. However, I recommend the following PowerColor HD 5570 for $70 + free shipping.

There is also a $15 MIR which reduces the cost to $55 total. But... the rebate is only valid for purchases thru December 15.

I suggested the Biostar only for the fact of it being a 2.0 as to not create,if any, problems for combatiablity for his mobo.
