It's been a long time since I have built a PC. I want to build a modest gaming PC, and here's what I have so far:
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T 3.2GHz
GIGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD5 ATX AMD Motherboard
Diablotek PHD Series PHD850 850W ATX12V v2.2 Power Supply
Patriot Viper Xtreme 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 15000)
Western Digital 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive
LG DVD Burner - SATA Model GH24NS50
Thermaltake V3 Black Edition VL80001W2Z Black SECC / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
The total for this is just under $900, and I am trying to stay as close to $1,000 as I can.
I still need a heat sink/cpu fan, and I welcome any advice, suggestions, whatever about any of it, especially if I am missing something important.
That Thermaltake case will never fit two vid cards let alone a decent size heat sink. This one down below doesn't break the bank, has plenty of room/size and you can add more fans to it later on if and when you decide to over clock and add another vid card. The mother board down below has gotten some good reviews and it's on the cheap atm. The Corsair heat sink is a good one, same with the psu down below. Now you have to choose your vid card.
