I am going to help a friend build a decent gaming rig, he has a budget of $800 dollars max, he wants to play the latest game releases this year and wants to play them on a 1920x1080 resolution here's what i came up with.

CPU: Athlon II x3 440

Mobo: msi 890GXM-G65 AMD890 Xfire

GPU: PowerColor HD6850 1gb ddr5 hdmi

powersupply:Corsair TX series 80PLUS 650 watts

HDD: WD 500gb SATA 3.0

case: Thermaltake V4 black mesh

Memory: Kingston 4Gb 1333mhz ddr3

he already has a hyper 212 plus cooler from his old pc though he needs an OS, probably windows 7 home premium and he also needs a monitor, what can you guys recommemd? it needs to be included in his budget plus he lives in asia so i guess newegg is out of the question. he also plans to have another 6850 xfired in the near future, any help would be appreciated :)  he plans to buy/build the pc on the 1st week of march

More about : guys

ASRock 870 EXTREME3 AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard would be a good alternate MB choice if you can find it at good price.
Everything on your list is looking good.

If you can find either of these monitors and they fit into his budget they would make great choices.

won't the GPU bottle neck the system? and will the cpu be able to handle things like photoshop editing?

1920 X 1080 more GPU power better but step up from HD 6850 to 6870 well worth it
Yes it would be fine for light workstation functions, etc

I wouldn't waste money on anything less than a quad-core, don't go with the 6-core since the difference in price would be better spent toward the graphics card
