I am going to get the i7-950 bloomfield by intel ,The question is , don't it come with a cpu fan ? if so why do i need to upgrade the one thats in the box ? I will be gaming with this rig and I was going to use a gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R LGA
1366 Intel X58 Sata 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel motherboard . What will be the best video card to use ? Also I have a NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX T Intergrated RAMDAC 1905 MB video card ( its a older one), so can I use that video card with a new video card that is better and do I want to ? Thanks .

The Core i7-950 retail box does come with the stock Intel CPU cooler.
It's a basic CPU cooler, but just fine for anyone that doesn't want to overclock the CPU.
If you want more out of the CPU, safely, the extra cooling power of an aftermaket CPU cooler makes a lot of sense.
The i7-950 3.06Ghz CPU can easily overclock near 4Ghz with good cooling.

Hi WR2 just a little thanks for all the help that you have gave me the last few weeks .The last time that we talked you said to list the parts for my son's build .Here it goes ;
I bought these parts one day before the recall ,
PSU core intel i52500k
mobo asus P8P67-m mother board
SSD Crucia 64 GB SSD 2.5 Internal Drive
HD SeaGate Barracuda 1TB 7200 RPM
Memory G.Skill RipJaws LGA 1156 platforms LGA 1155 sandybridge and AMD AM3 CPUs
Corsair TX 850W Power Supply
ASUS DVD/CD Rewritable Drive Model-DRW-24B1ST
NVIDIA GeForce GTX560Ti Superclocked SSC FTW

Can that cpu fan thats in the i7 bloomfeild box work for the i5 sandybridge 2500k if not I have this,
Thermaltake-Frio P/N:CLP0564 CPU cooler
CASE Cooler Master Haf 932 RC-932-KKN1-GP Black Steel ATX Full Towre

Well that is it how is it ? I am still waiting on my cpu .Its boxed and they say that is going to ship on tuesday but we will see . :)

I was going to wait to make sure that everything will work together before I bought anything else and I will send pics
of my build as Im building it again thanks so much...

john.

The stock Intel i7-950 (socket 1366) won't fit on the i5-2500k & Asus P8P67-m (socket 1155) CPU / motherboard.

Let me look if that Frio will work on socket 1155.

The i5-2500K will come with it's own socket 1155 stock intel cooler.

That Frio cooler will fit on the 1155 motherboard. And it's a pretty good cooler as well. Thermaltake Frio review

I think this is the stock Intel cooler for the i5-2500K

Is a physix card out dated ? When I bought it a friend picked it out and said it will make the games better . Me and my son play Call of Duty , dead space 2 and some other high end games . so do you think that I should just forget the 9800 GTX ?
Can you tell me what You think of the build that I listed ?
