Recently I purchased a ASUS MAN68T-MV2 Mobo since my old M4A78T-E has been sent off for a replacement. Im having problems playing NBA 2k11 during gameplay! What happens is about 2-3 mins into the game I get a sharp decrease in FPS from 70~ to 9~ and while looking at Task manager my AMD Quad-core goes from 23% to 85% or higher and stays like this for about 30 secs and goes back to normal! This happens throughout the gameplay! I've search on the forums and even updated the bios and turned off CNQ (cool and Quiet) it still is happening! Any help to resolve this would be greatly appreciated! Below is my SPEC!

I used CPU-z during the sharp decrease and it said my CPU GHZ was 800 on my quad core! after about a minute it went back up to 3.2ghz.

CPU: AMD Phenom IIx4 955 3.2GHz BE
MOBO: ASUS MAN68T-MV2
GPU: Radeon HD 5850
PSU: Thermaltake 650watts
HDD: WD 500 Gigs
RAM: A-DATA 4g with 9-9-9-24 timings and I have Spare G-Skills Rip Jaws 4g 9-9-9-24 both are DDR3 1333

What are your CPU temps it could be overheating throttling itself hence the 800mhz and bad fps.

Your title leads one to think you speed up by roughly 250 times.

800mhz not equal to 800ghz

Small fix.

What I meant to say is this your Cpu temp in game or just doing nothing no load. If this is your temp not under load it might be time to purchase a good heat sink and some thermal paste or at least re paste your cpu to see if that helps with temps.

Yeah in the Bios is telling me. I'll re-paste it again and get a desktop CPU Temp Widget to test it under the load hopefully this will solve the problem! Thanx again and if it works Ill Give you the best answer!
