First build need advice

I need some help on this build. Not sure what mobo and processor.I plan on using this for gaming and watching movies.I have mouse,key board and a sony xbr 9, 46 in tv to use as a monitor. I have about 2500.00 to spend if needed. I all so have an dell 435mt( 920 core i7) that I can rob parts from

If you have an i7-920 pc already, is there any specific reason you need to upgrade?

Also, with both 1156 and AM3 dead and to be replaced, now isn't exactly the best time to get a new PC.

Also, be aware that many Dell PC parts are proprietary (not to mention low quality) so don't expect to be able to import much to a new build.
