Asus m5a97 mobo dead?

I just installed my pre-posted mobo with a hexa-core AMD processor and when I turn on the power supply, the green light on the mobo turns on, but I can't start the computer. Any suggestions?

My system specs are:

Asus M5A97 board
FX 6100 Hexa-core CPU
8GB Kingston HyperX
400w PSU
GeForce 9600 graphix card

Check EPS 12V, ATX 12V and PCIe power connectors are inserted properly as well as the GPU. Also check the back of the board is not shorting against anything. Clear CMOS, place a single memory module in the slot furthest from the CPU (ensure it is seated properly) and see if the board will POST.
