Hello everyone, spending my tax refund to get back into PC gaming and I already have everything sorted out to get as soon as I get the money clears.


I was aiming for under 400, and I think I did pretty well.


Athlon II X3 455 Rana 3.3Ghz
I plan on OC'ing and unlocking the 4th core on this.

Acer 20" LCD Monitor


GIGABYTE SECC Case

Cooler Master PSU


SAMSUNG 500GB HDD


PQI Power 2x 2GB RAM


As for the video card, my good friend is sending me his old HD 5770 since hes updating to the new 6980 or something like that. And for gaming, the only games I intend on playing are Counter-Strike: Source, Garry's Mod, Half-Life 2, and Minecraft. Games like MW2, Black Ops, BFBC2, I play those on my Xbox.


So on a scale from 1-11 how do you think my system rates for what I need and/or compared to others?

-0.5 Case with only 1 cooling fan

-5 for ordering DDR2 RAM and a DDR3 motherboard.

Can we give a final score for a system not yet running? I dont think so.

A mismatch between AM3 motherboard that requires DDR3 RAM and your DDR2 RAM.

ATM DDR 3 RAM is less expensive than DDR3. About $40 for 4GB kit.
