So I recently started to go to school for voice acting and I'm looking to build a computer thats going to be used for voice recording and editing. My teacher recommended that I ask for guidance on this website. I will also be using programs like photoshop, illustrator, and maya as well. Ive never built a system on my own before, but i have a general idea.

I have money saved up and am also getting a loan from my school. I'm looking at a budget of about 5 - 10k. Anyone have some advice on what ill need, or even better, can help me build this thing on paper? ill be glad to provide any more information if you need it.

Thank you very much!

10K as in $10,000 US dollars?
We're a lot more used to building powerful systems around the $1500-$2500 range.

Help us out by filling out the *How To Ask For New Build Advice* form.
You can preview some of the suggested builds in different price ranges in this topic: Recommended Builds by Usage
Look at the Enthusiast: $1,332 build. We can use something like that as the core of your system with the audio upgrades (sound card & speakers) you'd probably want.
Photoshop, Illustrator, and Maya are probably your most demanding applications.
