I want to buy a new GPU...........but which one?

I'm new to this forum. I want to buy a new GPU but don't know what to choose. Can you guys give some suggestion? My budget is 250-300$.

hd 6950, if you can stretch a bit more ($350) you can get a gtx 570

gtx 470 or gtx 460 will do much better in under $300.as ati sucks,nvidia gtx 580 is better than ati's 6970.
