Hi guys,

I am looking to get the following upgrades:
Proc: Athlon II x3 455 Rana
MoBo: ASRock 870ga Extreme3
RAM: G.Skill 4gig @ 1600
Monitor: ASUS 23.6" 5ms HDMI Full 1080p resolution @ 1920 x 1080 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236052)

What I currently have is:
PSU: 550w (can't remember brand off top of my head)
Vid: GTS 250 1gb (again, my memory fails, can't remember brand)

Currently I am mostly a WoW/MMO player. But I am worried that my video card will not be able to handle the full resolution of the monitor. I do play games such as crysis and some other semi-graphic intensive games, but nothing too recent. Anyway, will my vid card be able to handle it? If I get the montior, I am over budget for a new vid card. My current monitor is only a 19" 1280x1024 monitor and is 5-6 years old... I could really use the upgrade. lol.

Thanks for the help guys.

It should be fine as long as you are not going to max everything out.

The GTS 250's performance kinda ranges from just a tad bit slower than a HD 5670 to a little faster than the HD 5770 depending on the game engine. Overall, it's performance in in between those cards. See following review:

I would just buy the monitor and start saving up for another video card. Personally, if I had that card, I can live with medium quality graphics if necessary and that means it should last me another 18 months.
