Memory for 1156 1366 platforms

is memory for a socket 1156 socket platform compatible with socket 1366?

Yes, but try to install the ram in threes for 1366 boards. 1156 is designed for installing in pairs, but the specs are pretty much the same. The motherboard chipset determines dual or tripple channel based also on the slot position of the ram. Consult your board manual for configurations for 1366; a few boards will run in dual channel mode if the sticks are in designated slots.
