Pentium4 2 8ghz working temp

Hello, My CPU is Pentium4 2.8 ghz, and work at 45 C idle temp, and very fast grow to 65 C when is
overload. Is this normal working temperature, or need better cooling system ?

very normal.. :)  ... and yeach better use good cooler after market

Well while its high its still not unusual for a Pentium 4, but yes you could get better cooling, one of these should do

Also what PC case is your system in ?

Since not ALL p4 chips are on the LGA 775 socket(there are some socket 478 kicking around), i recommend checking to see what socket you have, this will effect the heat sinks you can install.

If you get cpu-z under package, it will tell you the socket type. You will also get so see the core type as well, some core types ran hotter then others.

Also, it is recommended that you get an air duster and clear away any dust in the heatsink as this can lead to higher temperatures
