First Build - Information overload...too much/too little?

I currently have a 7-8 year old P4 2.53 / 1 gig of RAM / ATI AIW 800 and am looking to upgrade.
After spending some time reading the fine work you all do here (and figuring anything is better than what I have now) I went to newegg and priced out a $600 build, then read some more and priced out a $700 build, then $800....to now where I'm over $1000. I don't mind spending that much, but now I'm not sure if I've got too much or too little for what I want to do...

Approximate Purchase Date: This week/next few days

Budget Range: 600-1000... open to suggestions

System Usage from Most to Least Important: WoW/Gaming, Blu-Ray, Movies, Internet, some office work

Parts Not Required: I'm starting new

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.com

Country of Origin: U.S.A.

Parts Preferences: Would like to go with AMD CPU otherwise open to suggestions

Overclocking: Doubtful

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe in the future

Monitor Resolution: I'd like to run this on a 37" LCD at 1920x1080

Additional Comments: none...

Cooler Master HAF 912 Case
AMD X4 955 & Sapphire HD6950 CPU/GPU Combo
ASRock 870 Extreme 3 & Windows Prof MB/OS Combo
LG Blu-Ray w/ LiteScribe
Antec TP-550 PSU
G.Skill 4gb 1333 F3-10666CL8D-4GBRM RAM
Western Digital 1TB SATA 6gb/s HD

I'd need a wireless keyboard & mouse so that's another 60-100 or whatever.

I'd appreciate any suggestions!
