I don't normally cross post but this seemed like something to mention here as well We still need to find out what will ACTUALLY damage the CPU. Is it just voltage or will speed put a strain on it also?

The RAM voltage for socket 1155 is max. 1.5V. You can use lower voltage memory but not higher than 1.5V.
