Yes both are socket LGA775

AWARD BIOS Beep Codes
1 short: System boots successfully
2 short: CMOS setting error
1 long 1 short: DRAM or M/B error
1 long 2 short: Monitor or display card
error
1 long 3 short: Keyboard error
1 long 9 short: BIOS ROM error

Taken from the manual of that board.
That manual can be found here:
http://download.gigabyte.eu/FileList/Manual/motherboard...
So like Ghnader said try to reseat or replace the ram and try again, be sure there is no dust or whatever that can avoid the memory of connecting correctly with the memory sockets.

thanks for that info, have tried 2 different ram modules separately in different slots and made sure all contacts clean and properly seated but still same problem, ram modules are Kingston KTH-XW4100A/512, beginning to think maybe m/b problem.

if it is the motherboard you could try to rma it and see what would happen.
