Bios reset

Hi, my old gigabyte 915md-gv mobo's bios get reset to default if power failure accidentally or i manually plug out when pc running. It never happen before. I have change mobo battery cause first one is down. I think it may happen from new bat. But why? If there is any other reason please let me know. Thanks.

But why battery cause this problem? Improper shutdown due to power failure has no effect on bios as i know. But i will try replacing as you say.
