Graphics Driver Update and black screen

So I built my new pc and had no problems with anything until I installed the graphics driver update for my processor from Intel. I rebooted as instructed and found that I could not get past the initial windows logo. I hear the sound of the welcome screen but the screen itself is black.

Has anyone else had this experience?.. and how should I go about solving this problem?
