Hello,
I have an asrock z68musb3 board and when i try to install windows i realised the optical drive is not detected in bios. This is a brand new pc from ebay and so it has no os installed. Both cables are connected to the drive and motherboard so that's not the problem please help. This board also uses the new uefi bios so maybe that has something to do with the problem. Thank you and please help.

I would enter BIOS and be sure the SATA port(s) the optical drive is connected to is set IDE and not ACHI. Some boards won't recognize an IDE drive when the SATA ports are set as ACHI. If your board has a couple ports connected to a separate Marval SATA controller, set them to IDE and use one of them for the optical drive.
