Hey there guys,

I was looking at upgrading too a GT240

( Specific card im looking at http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270678144591&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_1891wt_905 )

My problem is is that even though my computer is barley a month old it doesn't seem to have a PCI-e 2.0 16 Port only a 1.0 16 Port. I did my research on compatibility and found out about most cards being backwards compatible. I know there is a drop in performance as well thats why i've chosen a better card.

I Want to at least play COD4/Fallout 3 on Mid

I just today bought a bigger tower case with a 500w Power Supply so i think im okay powerwise as this is recommended 350W

I hope you guys can either tell me if this card will work or at least find me a card that will for the same price

Im not bothered about ATi Or Nvidia but i prefer Nvidia as i understand the order of performance better

That card will perform quite a bit better for the same price. Description says "New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging is applicable). If the item comes direct from a manufacturer," and the seller has more than 15k sales.

What is your monitor's resolution, by the way? The HD5670 is only good for 'medium' up to around 1680x1050.

Most of the times the PCIe is compatible with all of its versions, but there are exceptions. I think you could get it and try it. If it doesn't work, just return the card.

Oh, Hang on ?!

Under expansion capabilities intel says it's a 2.0 port. Maybe my looks in !!

I think im going to go with the ATi as i found a 2.0 version of it !
