I'm facing abrupt shut downs with no warning of any sort. Is this bcoz of the power supply (SMPS) or any other reason?
I'm using Iball SMPS LPS223-400 with 250W continuous supply and 400W peak supply (17A on +12V rail). If its coz of smps could u suggest me a suitable smps. I'm thinking of buying Coolermaster elite power 350W smps.

I'm giving my configuration below-

Asus M2N68-AM plus motherboard, AMD Athlon II X2 245 processor, 2Gb ddr2 ram, Radeon HD 4650 1gb graphics card, 500GB Seagate HDD

Your abbrupt shutdowns are almost certainly caused by an inadequate capacity on the 12 volt rail.

You do not need more power. You need a better power supply. Never buy a PSU that has an advertised "peak power" rating.

Unfortunately, the low end CoolerMaster PSU's are not much better.

What else is available in your budget?
