Probably Asus in terms of initial QC, after that I doubt there is much difference. The Asus has a few more ports.

Get ASUS, they are about the same + free shipping = same price : )

Both are poor overclokers due to its power limitations.

thanks. I probably will get the asus just because ive heard good things about them. Can i overclock at all with it? my processor is supposed to be easy overclock.

You should be able to overclock... I can't see where it specifically states you can unlock cores, but I thought all the newer ASUS boards could.

Not a problem if you don't have a cpu that has cores turned off.

i dont think ill need to really overclock with a 3.60 quad core though. i was just curious for the future.

would you say the AMD FX 4100 is a good CPU as well?

Its decent CPU and very popular with people because the price and multi-core that u can overclock safely to 4.1 GHz and capitalize on the great deal with great performance.

I think ill try to get some more money from my dad for that gigabyte motherboard. If I'm not going to overclock will the Asus one still work fine?

Tell your dad that mobo is a center piece of the PC and CPU is the heart.

And the best and most enjoyable experience comes with mid end quality hardware.

U can say, that he would not buy a car without Air Condition and power windows and remote door locks : )

After all, there are mobos that cost well past $400!
