I have an Optiplex 745 small form factor XP Pro 2gb RAM.
The last couple of days i noticed lines appearing on the desktop. Asking around, the most likely culprit was the on board graphics.
I want to upgrade the card, but the power supply is only 275w. I went out today and got an 8400GS 512MB(minimum 300w)just to see if the on board graphics was the problem. So far, no lines with the new card.
Is 275w enough for the 8400? I have a firewire card also installed and use an external DVD burner, which stays unplugged from the pc most of the time.
If the power isn't enough, what card is recommended?
