I am having a serious problem with my computer;
many times when it booted up; only the DELL logo shows up and doesn't go away; then a few times later the screen vibrated ; but it never fully booted
i removed all components and put them back; the weird kalaidoscoping stopped but still didn't get past the dell logo.
then i tried again ; pressed F2 ; set video memory to 128 for on board graphics
after that it worked.
i have absolutely no idea whats going on; the only thing i can say for certain is that its not the optical drive or RAM causing the problem..
i don't think its the motherboard; not sure bout CPU
my biggest suspicion is that it is HDD failure; today i had a lot of power cuts; and this computer experienced plenty of power failures from before as well.
in fact; prior to this incident there was a power cut;
My HDD harddrive started out (4 years ago) quiet. then from 6 months ago it made an audible spinning (crk crk ) sound
But NOW i don't hear it;
I hope I am able to reboot my computer again to see the replies.... Thanks for your help in advance
