I would put in Matrix in a close second to LOTR, but damn, LOTR just has too much great work put into it, so it gets the extra push from me.

LOTR had something magical. It made me beleive in what was going on, it was breathtaking. Matrix was also cool, but somehow the books do it for me.

Evil Dead 1 was stupid. Just another lame horror movie. I was hoping for so much more because I saw it after I saw Army of Darkness.

Evil Dead 2, although I've only seen it once and don't remember much, was funny and much better.

Army of Darkness, though, is totally awesome. A+ on that one. Funny as hell, it is.

Total comedy. USA channel often plays the extended version, but because it's on TV having to deal with commercials sucks. I should buy the extended version DVD, as that is definately one of my favorite movies.

I thought the Old Mrs Phillips trilogy was quite good.

Evil Dead would get my vote too.

Think Peter Jackson would direct that trilogy? We could have some endearing moments between Old Henry and Wingding as they venture up to the great cemetary mountain, in hopes to destroy the ring tying Old Mrs. Phillips to some corporation boss, and we could have some of those "I love you Mr Henry!", "I love you Wingding!" *crying* moments.

I suggest watching The Godfather 1, 2 and 3 then watch Star Wars 1, 2 and 3 and then you will know what a good trilogy is.

Star Wars 3 isn't out yet.

I liked the SW trilogy but it wasn't in any way the best for me. Haven't seen Godfather yet. For now though, nothing beats either the Matrix trilogy or the LOTR one, for me. They just scream epic, especially the latter with the cinematography.

EDIT: Forgot to add the "for me". Was refering to both trilogies as the best for me.

SW(the movie) was not *that* great. It's more the industry behind it that let the SW universe grow.
All the books, games etc. A lot of talent has gone into expanding the original idea.

The first Star Wars movies were good. I'd like to see them again, actually, as it's been awhile. I don't even remember most of them.

The Godfathers are also good, except I have never seen Part 3 because I only hear bad things about it.

Lord of the Rings is just amazing, in every way, far moreso than Star Wars.

BTW, I heard something on the radio saying that epiii will be called the Return of Darth Vadar.
