AMD - been drink'n and got my taxes back!

Wanted to build a AMD based rig on the cheap, just for fun. I just wanted to get some feedback.

Usage would be for games and inter blah blah blah...How many post are there going to be like this...yall know what Im talking about...there is only like 100+ post on this stuff everyday. God! does anyone take initiative any more? I guess Im just looking for someone to pat me on the back and say "Hey man, looks grrreat!"

will the 6970 fit in a mid-tower?

6950/6970 u have to be careful but this is a 10" HD 6870 so good to go ^^

I'd get a 5870 for the price of a 6870 or around that price. I'd also get a full ATX board--the ASRock 870 Extreme 3 because it has PCI-e (8x/8x) slots and is good for Crossfire. A 750W PSU would handle Crossfire.

I think all these items are worth the minimal upgrade price. But I'm not sure the 5870 fits in your case. I really like the case, but I'd check reviews to see what it could fit. Keep the Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB (not cheapest on Newegg) because it's the cheapest drive there is on price, performance, and capacity considerations.

Why do you guys keep talking about that "ASRock" board?? Why put a cheap board in your build? Also I never heard of that brand, why not go with MSI, Gigabyte, or Asus?

^Asrock is a subsidiary of Asus. The quality for price is amazing I would recommended it over MSI anyday.
