Hi........ I own a Compaq Presario SG3340IL desktop,

System Config:
Processor-Intel Pentium Processor E2160
(1M Cache, 1.80 GHz, 800 MHz FSB),
Motherboard-Intel 945GCT-HM (Livermore),
Graphics Card-ATI Radeon HD4350 (1 GB DDR2),
Ram-2 GB DDR2 667MHz,
HDD- Barracuda 7200.11 SATA 3Gb/s 1-TB Hard Drive,
PSU-Bestec 250W

now i want upgrade my processor and graphics card, so plz suggest a high speed processor (3.0 GHz) and a decent graphics card (ATI or Nvidia 1GB DDR5) that is compatible with my mobo without replacing the PSU, i mainly use my system for gaming. I live in India and my budget is around 10,000 Rs/-

You probably know that the motherboard supports the Core 2 Duo (Conroe) up to E4300, but upgrading from an E2100 to an E4300 might not be worth it.

You could try, but they most likely won't work because the BIOS doesn't support them.

According to HP (you probably already read http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00910113&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us), the fastest processor is the E4300. As I said in my first reply, it isn't worth it (http://www.techspot.com/review/53-pentium-e2140-e2160/page3.html). In addition, your system is limited to 2GB of memory, etc.

You may be able to upgrade the video card to an ATI HD 6670 without replacing the PSU, but your system will still be very slow when compared to current low-end systems.

Not unless a 2-3% performance improvement is worth it to you. To me it would be a bad investment.
