Welcome to Tom's Forum! :)

Personally, I prefer the ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3. However, if you don't need the Z68 added features: onboard iGPU, SSD Caching or Quick Sync MPEG-2/4/H.264 production then both ASUS MOBO's are fine. The EVO adds dual LAN which is good for e.g. LAN Parties. Beyond that see this side-by-side comparison -> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007627%2050001315%20600093976&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&CompareItemList=280%7C13-131-790%5E13-131-790-TS%2C13-131-704%5E13-131-704-TS

I noted a confusing issue in PCIe; both are x16 (x8/x8) + x4 PCIe, but the ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 offers PCIe 3.x whereas ASUS P8P67 EVO is PCIe 2.x.

Thanks for the welcome :D, been coming to this site for years.

I'll give that one a go then, is there any other MOBO's that you would recommend instead? or are these two the best for their price?

Ok, thanks again :D, also not sure if I have to start a new topic but would you recommend the Intel Sandybridge I5-2500K?

The SB i5-2500K yields the best bang for the buck CPU out there - period. Note some Games and Apps do benefit from a 4-core + 4-hyper-threaded CPU e.g. i7-2600K.

So yes, I do highly recommend the i5-2500K! Enjoy! :)

If you're interested ... this might help someone else out

purchased a P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 and due to some strange positioning of the USB cabling to the motherboard, and also the power switch, led, type cables - although there are 3 x PCI-e 16x slots, only 2 of them will actually fit a card.

Unless your card is very short, I've tried everything to get mine in.
