Need to Build A Good Gaming Computer

Hello! I was wondering if anyone could help me create a good gaming rig in preparation for Battlefield 3. I would be willing to spend up to around $1500. I was told that this community could help me build one since I don't want to screw up anything while I'm searching for parts. Thanks!

1500? Battlefield 3? Well, I spent around 200-300 on mine and I can play arma 2 + all expansion on max, (very demanding game) and crysis 2 on High 1.4k reoslution.

    I've got the following

Dinosour case from ebay with a 500w power supply - New - 25.00
Ati radeon 4850 (get the 5000 series if you got the cash) 512mb - 47.00 - Ebay
    Gigabyte EP41-UD3L Motherboard - 40.00 - Ebay
    Intel Duo Core E8400 Cpu @ 3.0 - 89.00 - Ebay
    6GB Ram - 29.99 - Ebay
    500GB Hdd Sata - 23.00 - A friend
Buying a Heat sink artic cooler pro 7 - 13.00
    19-20 Inch flatscreen - 17.00 - Carboot sale
Another 19-20 inch Flatscreen 32.00 - Carboot sale

So yeah I guess mine was pretty cheap, not the best computer but I have played the following games on High/Max

    NFS Shift 2 - High
    Crysis 2 - High
    Crysis - High
    Arma 2 - Max
    Arma 2 expansion - Max
    Portal 2 - Max
Assasins Creed Brother Hood - Very high
    Gothix 4 - High
    Rift - Max
    Shogun 2 - High
    Dragon Age 2 - Max
    Sims 3 - Max

Those are the games I've purchased in the last week and a half, fresh of my mind. So yeah it's a good gaming rig, but try get a Quad core, I hear good reviews and only a little more expensive, and get the 5000 series Ati Radeons.

But Note: Iguess I'm speaking to save you money really, I don't know much about the best parts, but I'm just saying what i got and being a gamer myself I just thought I'd let you know what I got (which will be lower to yours) can play most games high/max so yours should be good with a high budget like that

How is that a ridiculous budget?...If you are only getting PC parts and a case (not including any accessories like Os, monitor, keyboard...etc) then 1500 to spend on parts is on the low end side in terms of price to spend on a gaming computer.
