Yea, Asus Rampage III mainboard and Intel I7 950 is already $800. $1000 won't be enough.

Just forgot about the budget. Can you recommended me some stuff?

Asus Rampage III Extreme X58/ Core i7 950/ 12gb Patriot Viper xtreme 1600/ Zalman CNPS-9900max/ 2- xfx 6970/ 1 wd black 2tb and 1 wd black 1tb/ Lite-on 12x blue ray burner/ Corsair 800d/ Corsair 1200 psu/ Logitech g19/ Razer Lachesis 5600

Its a good setup, but I will be building my wife a 2600K build with a gigabyte p67 ud7 and a couple of gtx 570 or 580's and compare. I will then upgrade my system to however I see fit.

If gaming and looking at Intel - wait for SB chipset flaw to be ironed out

Past the Point of Reason:
CPUs priced over $225 offer rapidly diminishing returns when it comes to game performance. As such, we have a hard time recommending anything more expensive than the Core i5-2500K

If merely office/net/games understand that you stated no budget but this is the sort of config i sent over the email for Australian based 1920 x 1080 gamer

I'm working on a similar build and had a question about your RAM. Do you know the "model" number for the RAM?

That's what I have ordered as well. Did you have to change any BIOS settings for the RAM or did it work right away? I've read about others having some boot issues. Just want to plan ahead for my build so I don't have *many* issues. Thanks.

Only boot issues I have is if my hd is attached to my sata 6 drives. Some mobos have issues with the 6gb and some dont. I like to run my ram higher but it booted up at 1066. I right now my ram is almost 1300 and cpu at 3.7 without anything other than preset ocing settings. I did however run the ram voltage up to 1.65 and it is very stable.

WR2's build is nice. But i think i will try other stuff. And a brand new stuff. Since my friend told me Intel i5 is better in gaming than Intel i7. And Asus Rampage III Extreme only support Intel i7. Thanks for all the replies.
