New gaming build advice

Approximate Purchase Date: This week

Budget Range: $600 AR

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming. Going to playing mostly Rift, WoW, SC2, and EVE. Just RTS and MMORPG games. No FPS. Thats what the ps3 is for.

Parts Not Required: Mouse, Keyboard, speakers, monitor. Going to be using my 23in LED tv as a monitor.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg.com, and probly amazon.com

Parts Preferences: AMD processor, ATI GPU, at least 4 gigs DDR3

Overclocking: No

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe

Monitor Resolution: Its a 23in LED tv 1080p

Additional Comments: Looks dont matter. My biggest thing is the video card, processor, and MOBO. Everything else can be as cheap as possible. If I do get a decent graphics card, I guess I can settle for a single card MOBO but if not then a SLI/crossfire capable MOBO is ideal. I will also be putting windows 7 64bit in.

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor HDZ965FBGMBOX

GIGABYTE GA-890GPA-UD3H AM3 AMD 890GX HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

CORSAIR XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TR3X6G1600C9

Sony Optiarc Black CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA CD/DVD Burner LightScribe Support

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST3500418AS 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

HIS H577FK1GD Radeon HD 5770 (Juniper XT) 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Would like the Radeon 6850 but I think it may be a bit overkill and its also 50dollars more. Not sure about a case and Power supply either. Probly going to need a heatsink and fans too right?

Too mobo/RAM heavy and compromising on GPU for 1080p gaming so

    $574AR
  2. Wow you blew my overpriced system out of the water lol. Im new to building computers and i've always used a laptop to game on but the one I have is horrible now with all these new games coming and having integrated intel card was the worst thing I could have did when I bought this laptop 2 years ago.

I knew the MOBO was pretty overkill but I googled everything and did research and that was the best bang for the buck with lots of room to play with. I guess if I'm not going to use the room now its not worth it just yet? The Ram was a decent price too. 75 Dollars for 6 gigs? but your getting me 2/3 that for half the price so i guess yours is better. The stock fans in the case should be suffice without it overheating and what not too?
  3. Yes but you could always get after market case fans when u have more funds and even u looking for a CFable mobo you'd be better off with the Asrock 870Extreme3 as one is paying a premium for 890GXes with its HD 4290 IGP which is over ruled when slotting in a discrete GPU For tight price points best to hit as big frames/$$ ratio rather than CF/SLI for best results ^^ Lastly AM3 is dual channel so 2 x 2 or 2 x 4 for RAM
  4. I didnt see the card in there is the 6870 1 gig card so I guess I'd be alright playing on a 1080p screen so I dont really need a CF able mobo. I guess I'll run the computer first and see how hot it gets and see if I need to get something more.
  5. Ya - personally i have used Yate Loon D12SL-12 for my cases and loved em ^^
  6. well you pretty much sold me on this build so I will go to newegg right now and order. Thanx so much for your help batuchka.

    P.S. I love this site.
  7. quick question. Is the XFX 6850 card better then the HIS one? I also read the AMD Phenom II x4 955 is the best CPU for the money. The 970 is not worth it. I see a combo

XFX 6850 and AMD Phenom 970

The 955 is 140$ and the HIS 6850 is 220$ w/ 20$ MIR so it is cheaper but is the the 970 worth it w/ a XFX 6850 card?
  8. Also in your build batuchka you have 4 gigs of patriot ddr3 1333 ram. I can put ddr3 1600 ram in thought because thats what my MOBO can hold? Whats the best out of these

    Patriot Memory
  9. Nah with unlocked multi no point going higher than a 955BE and i would stick to HD 6870

Mobo supports DDR3 800 - 1600 but go as per budget and Black Editions clock fie with value RAMs too thanks to that unlocked multi ^^
  10. ok then. Newegg sold out on the DDR3 1600 ram so I guess ill pick. This one just went on sale today too so its cheaper then the one picked earlier.

    Patriot G Series ‘Sector 5’ Edition 4gb 1333
  11. Pretty much your build batuchka. I get 30$ MIR so Im down to 570$ in the end. Unless someone says otherwise, this is the build I'm ordering tomorrow. well today as its 3am and I've been reading about computers for like 18hrs straight.

  12. Hmm perhaps for a $5 top up same case with the 630W model for one time sinking investment :P
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.594814

Rest looks good to go ^^
  13. hehe yea, an extra 100w for 5$ cant go wrong there. I got that one instead. Thanx.
  14. Yep u are welcomed ^^
