Hi, I'm just wondering if g skill ripjaw series ram 8gb cas lat 7. 1600 speed, will work with the NH-D14 cpu cooler (space wise).

Also im using the ASUS Maximus IV Extreme RoG Edition Motherboard.
the case im using is the Silverstone Raven RV01B-W

I have heard that The cpu cooler can get in the way of the ram when using all four slots. If it will, are there any other recommendations for cpu coolers ( I do plan on overclockin) And i prefer not to use water cooling.

Heres the Link to the ram

Thanks for any help!!

The Megahalems, Venemous X and Noctua are all at a fit risk with tall heat sinks. Anything taller than 40mm can be a problem with the Megahalems and most air coolers.

As those RAM heat sink thingies don't do anything for cooling, except "look cool", they are best avoided.

System water cooling is expensive, requires know how but the newer "self contained water coolers" that mount just like an air cooler are getting interesting. They also avoid the interference problem. here's a recent review:

what do you think of the corsair h70 water cooler. The reason i would prefer to stay away from water cooling is because im not quit sure how it would be installed (especially in the silverstone which has the motherboard titled to allow the heat to rise). Mainly confused on where the radiator would go

i think ill stick with newegg, and tigerdirect. ( I live in Canada, so its best to stick with companys that are also in Canada). So I'm a little confused with the conflicting comments. Id like to go with the Nh-D14, but i don't want to risk all that money on something that may not fit?

Hi peterson99,

I've got the NH-D14 and 8Gb (2 x 4) of Ripjaws ram and there's no problem. The Noctua website has a list of compatible ram/motherboard combinations for each cooler if you want to be on the safe side (though it's not easy to find, under the motherboard
list I think, scroll down until you see a check ram compatibility link).

Hope this is of help to you.
